WHEN WILL I GET MY SCRIPT?

As soon as I receive your payment (via credit card, PayPal, Venmo, Zelle or by check or money order), the script is e-mailed to you; If you are paying on the site, a download link is automatically emailed to you when your card (Or PayPal) clears the system.  Look for it in your email box usually within the hour, but at least it should be on the same day, in most cases. The download link is toward the bottom of the email.  Then a follow up email is sent to see if you received everything.  If you are using PayPal for payment, then we have to log into PayPal and accept your payment before the script is sent to you.  This all depends on when we see the notification and get that done for you.  Usually, it is within the same day or the next day, if you ordered at night.

HOW DO I GET THE SCRIPT AND IN WHAT FORMAT?

You will receive an e-mail that will have a download link to open a PDF file.  (Word format and/or RTF documents are available upon request for some of the scripts) You can save that file and print it.

CAN I DOWNLOAD THE SCRIPT FROM YOUR SITE?

Once you have made your payment by credit card, and we see that notification, we will send an invoice email and there will be a “download link” that you may click to open the document in PDF format.

CAN I GET A HARD COPY MAILED TO ME?

Yes. If you pay an additional $12, then I will print off a copy of the script and put it in a little folder and send it to you via Priority Mail. Express mail would be at least $32, and if you live outside the U.S., please contact me for the rates. (This is pretty much never asked for anymore, so I would have to contact the post office for the current rates and let you know.) If you cannot print the script at your home, perhaps have me email the script to another address where it can be printed.

CAN I WRITE A CHECK OR MONEY ORDER?

Yes. Send the check or money order to Warren Sager, (email me for the address) warren@scriptsbywarren.com

CAN I GIVE YOU MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER OVER THE PHONE?

Yes.  I use a secure system that has virtual payments.  (email me for my phone number) warren@scriptsbywarren.com

WHAT CHOICES DO I HAVE IF I WANT TO PAY BY CREDIT CARD?

If you use the shopping cart on my secure site, MX Merchant will handle the transaction.  If you prefer to just sign in to use your own PayPal account, that option is available to you.  Also, an e-check is another option through PayPal. I also accept Venmo and Zelle.

WHAT IF I CAN’T GET MY CREDIT CARD TO GO THROUGH?

Please contact me via email with a phone number that I can call, and I will try to enter your card for you.  Also, you can try using your PayPal account by going to  “https://www.paypal.comI” and send the payment to my e-mail address: “warren@scriptsbywarren.com”, or I can send a money request from PayPal. Often times that will work.  Please do not keep trying the exact same thing over and over if your card is declined.  I get charged for each try.  Make sure the address you enter is the same address that goes with the card you are using.  In other words, always use the billing address, not the shipping address.  If I do need to ship you something, you can give me that address later.

I’M GETTING AN ERROR MESSAGE WHEN I TRY TO ORDER

Just call me and we’ll try doing it over the phone.  If there is a problem, I need to know.  (email me for my phone number)

WHEN I TRY TO PLACE AN ORDER, IT KEEPS TELLING ME THAT MY CART IS EMPTY!

We’re not sure why this happens to some people.  It could have something to do with the cookies on your computer.  Just call and we can take care of it over the phone and then email the script to you.  (email me for my number)

CAN I MAKE COPIES OF THE SCRIPT, OR DO I NEED TO ORDER MORE COPIES?

Just order and pay for only one copy and then make as many copies as you need.

ARE THERE ROYALTY FEES TO PAY?

If you sell tickets, then I am to receive a royalty payment of 5% of the total box office receipts.  No performance fees will be collected.

CAN I READ THE SCRIPT BEFORE PAYING FOR IT?

I would be happy to let you read more of the script, but I do not allow a complete reading of the script before payment, because I would have to send the entire script in order to do that… and being that it is just a file, there is no way to protect myself. However, I do send more scenes to read if you like. Let me know… I can send the ending and the beginning for you, so you can get a clearer picture of the play.  Contact me and maybe we can work something out.  [I do have a limited number of my scripts in a “read only” version.  If the one you want is one of them, I can send it and you can view it on your device.  You just can’t print or copy]

IF I AM UNCERTAIN WHETHER A SCRIPT IS GOING TO WORK FOR ME, CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT IT?

Yes. I would be glad to answer any questions that you have about the script. HOW MUCH WOULD IT COST TO HAVE YOU WRITE A CUSTOM SCRIPT FOR ME?

It would depend on the difficulty of the subject matter, whether research is needed (ie: true or historical subjects), if a lot of re-writes are needed, and how long it takes me to write it. Taking all of that into consideration, I basically base my fees on a scale of how long the script is. For instance, an hour long script would start at $300, and a 15 minute sketch would start at $75.  It is basically $5 a minute which is usually a page of dialog.  (except for monologues) A pre-payment of $50 is required before I begin any custom project. This goes toward your final payment.  (For scripts under 5 minutes – $25)

HOW LONG WOULD IT TAKE TO WRITE A CUSTOM SCRIPT?

That would depend on whether I am working on any at the time and if there is research to do or not. Normally, with no other projects going, I can put an hour script together in just a few weeks or less.

WHAT IF I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THE SCRIPT WHEN YOU FINISH?

As I write a scene, I will send it to you for your approval. If you like what I have done so far, then I will continue. If you want changes, I will make them. I try to keep the storyline and flow of the script to what you are wanting. I want you to be happy with the final result. However, this slows down the process, as I wait for your response before I continue. If you don’t respond promptly, then that will delay your script.

WHO HAS THE RIGHTS TO THE SCRIPT ONCE IT IS FINISHED?

Normally, I will retain all the rights.  Once the play is finished and I have been paid, then I will probably add the script to my website if I think it is something that others might want.  I don’t believe I charge enough for anyone else to keep the rights to it.  We can discuss these matters if you like.  If you want to retain the rights, then I will charge you a lot more for the project.

WILL THERE BE STAGE NOTES INCLUDED IN THE SCRIPT THAT I PURCHASE?

There are usually very few stage notes. Some of my customers have great resources and others are very limited. I mostly focus on the dialogue and let the director imagine the set and the props and the blocking of the play. I would be happy to make suggestions.

DO YOU HAVE ANY MUSIC IN YOUR PLAYS?

Very little. I wrote one song for the Children’s Christmas play, “Children of Bethlehem” which is included, but otherwise, only suggestions of songs are made. I might suggest an old hymn or Christmas carol that is in the public domain. If you want to add songs on your own, you may feel free to do so.

CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO YOUR SCRIPT?

Please contact me with the changes that you would like to make. Usually, it is not a problem. I understand that sometimes you need to cut out or add characters or change it to fit your situation better. I do not want the theological message changed so that it no longer reflects my personal beliefs about scripture.

I PAID FOR MY SCRIPT, WHY HAVE I NOT RECEIVED IT?

It is quite possible that there is a problem. Many times the emails are incorrect, or they come back as undeliverable. I am probably waiting for you to contact me. Please send a different email address that I can use, or email me a phone number so that I can call you.  Remember, the script is not coming in the USPS mail, but by email. You should have received it via email on the same day of your order.

CAN I GET A REFUND ON MY PURCHASE?

Generally, no; because the script is emailed to you and is only a file. It isn’t like a book that can be returned. That is why I will be happy to allow you to read more excerpts from the script before you buy. If there are special circumstances, please contact me.

IF I AM FROM A COUNTRY OTHER THAN THE U.S.A., AM I ABLE TO ORDER FROM THIS SITE?

Yes!  You may use your credit card and the process should work.  I accept payment from a large number of countries. If it does not work, please email and request my phone number and we can try it over the phone, or you may try using your credit card on PayPal by going to “https://www.paypal.com” and sending payment to my email address: warren@scriptsbywarren.com” or email me and I can try doing a request for payment through PayPal.  If nothing else will work, I can take an international money order for the amount of the order in U.S. funds mailed to me.  Please include an email address, so I can email the script.  Don’t give up.  I want to get your script to you.
