This is a sketch about five youth and their leader taking a hike in the woods. A narrator does a lot of the talking to set up the story and characters and these are real characters! Not your normal run-of-the-mill youth group. They have unusual names and even crazier personalities. Among all the craziness, one of the students begins to talk about the cross she wears around her neck and the gospel message is shared. A lot of humor and silliness throughout.
Six actors + narrator. (3 males, 3 females). Around 8--9 mins.

Here is a fun sketch for your youth or for a fun night at church.... maybe Valentine's Day. The king and queen of Mundania are having a joust. Well, actually, they just play "rock, paper, scissors". The champion, Sir Lovesalot is in love with lady Emeline, but he's too shy to talk to her. Little does he know that she is also in love with him. The theme of "love is patient" comes out a few times as the king and queen try to help the young couple. Meanwhile, visiting Knights of the Round Table show up looking for some new recruits, which the king is excited about, but will this mean the young couple will have to wait even longer? There is a jester who is not funny, a wizard who can't seem to do anything, and an ugly old peasant woman who is desperate to find a husband. The king and queen do talk about God's love and how God is the one who brings people together.

In this pre-EASTER skit, on a Good Friday, a group of young people from a public school are heading on a field trip to the museum. They board a subway train and find a few younger kids in their car. Those kids are heading to a play about the crucifixion of Jesus and a discussion begins about what Good Friday is all about and the real meaning of Easter. Two of the kids begin a strong witness as they share the gospel, and one boy in particular shows a great interest.

This short play was written as a drama to go along with a choir cantata for Christmas. There are only three actresses, a grandmother and two teenage girls. Becky always spends a weekend with her grandmother at Christmas time and this year, she gets to bring along her best friend. They have a great time doing holiday type things and Becky's friend learns a lot about the true meaning of Christmas and what it means to have Jesus put a song in your heart.

A simple Christmas play with a few young people and adults that is easy to do with a small cast and not much preparation. In this story, best friends, Taylor and Emily have a falling out when Emily thinks that Taylor and her sister are spreading false rumors about her brother, Tanner. Tanner isn't bothered, but Emily takes a strong stand for him and so does their mother. That pitches her against the other mother and two families are divided. Tanner is sneaky and manages to get the two friends together and they talk and work things out, but then they have to prove to their moms that all is okay, so they trick them in to getting together, too and all is resolved at the end with the kids using the Christmas story as the basis for understanding what Christian love is all about and why Jesus came and how he wants us to live. You can add songs and make it a nice program with music. The songs are not included, you need to find your own.
Written as 1 male and 7 females, (4 adults, 4 youth) but some of the genders can be changed to male. About 20-22 mins.

This short Christmas skit is for three teens and small parts for two adults. The teens can be any gender and the two adults are probably female... to be two mothers. This takes place at a Christmas event or function, where some youth just start talking loudly to each other and getting everyone's attendance. The conversation turns a bit controversial when one of the kids starts talking about boycotting gift giving this year.

An original "modern day" drama in 2 acts that takes place around the time of Easter. Dylan is a young art teacher at the high school and also leads a weekly bible study. Every year on Good Friday, he carries a big cross around and witnesses to people as to what Easter is all about, and on Easter morning, he does a sunrise service on the beach. As he prepares for the big event, some of the students at the school get excited about helping out. One such girl is Alissa. Alissa has a little brother who gets picked on by a bully, and their parents decide to pull both children out of school and "home school" them. This is a big decision as the mom, Greta, has to quit her job to do it. The boy, Christopher, is very excited, but Alissa does not like the idea at all..and rebels. Meanwhile, Christopher runs into the bully again, (Henry) and has the boldness to tell him about Jesus and how He loves him. Henry's brother, Ian is concerned about Henry and their very depressed father, Sebastian. Ian also goes to Dylan's bible study, and he tries to get his dad to agree to attending the sunrise service. There are other stories mixed in and they all connect somehow and the entire cast ends up on stage at the last scene taking place on the beach. Dylan reads the Easter story and shares and many of them make decisions to follow the Lord more closely or for the first time. There are lessons on forgiveness and loving those who have hurt you, following the leading of God no matter how hard it seems, accepting that God allows sorrow in our lives, and the simple message of salvation.
Cast of 23, (14 male, 9 female) mostly young people (4 children - boys). 90-100 minutes.

This was done as a Children's Musical, but there was only one original song. The rest of the songs were borrowed from other places. It does work well as a musical with costumes. Joey is in the Children's Choir and he falls asleep after the performance and dreams that he is back in the time of Jesus' birth as one of the children of Bethlehem. Jonas and Deborah live in the Inn that is run by their parents. Mary and Joseph come by asking for a room...and get sent to the stable. The kids are all excited about a baby being born in their stable that night. Micah is a shepherd boy who wants to be able to stay up all night with his older brother and the other shepherds to watch the sheep.. so he hides out after he and the other children were sent home. Jedidiah is his brother, who loves to study the scriptures..and knows a lot about the prophesies concerning the Messiah. The angel appears to them and they immediately believe that this baby is the one they have been waiting for. They hurry to see the baby and worship him telling Joseph and Mary about the angels. As they leave, they see Jonas and Deborah and tell them, too. They tell their dad, who doesn't believe them that the baby is the Messiah, and sends them off to bed. Joey is wakened by his mother, and he tells her about his dream. He decides to give his heart to Jesus.
Cast of 22 (12 male, 10 female, some adults can be used), plus extras and Children's Choir. Depending on how many songs are used, time is 60-90 mins. Dramatic portion is about 25-30 mins. This can also be used as a short non-musical play.

This is a humorous sketch about having our anchor in Christ, otherwise we could drift and become shipwrecked in our faith. It is obviously a rip-off of a popular TV show from the 60's. Two gals, Pepper and Carrie Anne have met and are taking a short cruise around Catalina Island with a female skipper. But the skipper gets off the boat to gas up and the girls fall asleep to wake up and find that they have drifted way out to sea. Pepper is played over the top as a dumb actress and they deal with possible sharks and rocks and the fear of shipwreck. Even though they cry out to God in prayer... they find themselves at the end on an island where someone named Gillian is also stranded. There are sequels that you can get to follow this sketch, parts 2 and 3. Or if you want all three, go to the general Christian script category and scroll till you find "Gillian's Island - The Play". You save a little money by buying the play rather than the three skits.

This play is a rip-off of the popular TV comedy of the 60's about castaways stranded on a deserted island. In this one, the characters have similar names and a few of them even resemble the famous TV characters. It starts out with Carrie Ann and Pepper taking a short cruise with Skippie and during a stop for gas, the boat drifts out to sea because it didn't get tied down good. The two girls find themselves lost at sea and don't know what to do. They pray and end up near an island and just when they would have crashed on the rocks, they put down the anchor. Pepper learns the lesson that Christ is OUR ANCHOR in life. They meet other castaways on the island and try to get along with them and work together to find a way off the island. (their boat never got gas) In the final scene, Skippie arrives to rescue them and they end up in a big storm and the gospel is shared and Carrie Ann prays and all is well. Humor is scattered throughout with most of the comic lines going to Pepper. The parts of the actress and the billionaire should be played over the top like the ones on the TV show and that should come across funnier. I have changed all the names because these are not those characters and should only reflect their memory, for those who would recognize the old show. A big obvious difference is that Gillian is a girl's name. This play is also divided up into three skits and can be purchased separately under the skits category on this site.
8 actors (written as 3 male and 5 female) The part of Skippie could also be a male. About 40 mins.

This is a sequel to Gillian's Island, obviously. If you want to continue the story, the girls from the first sketch have arrived on the beach of a deserted island only to find that there are other people already shipwrecked there. The characters are loosely based on the TV sitcom of the 60's. Carrie Ann is the Christian and she tries to be helpful as she runs up against a very disagreeable rich man who doesn't want more mouths to feed. Pepper is the ditzy actress who usually has the comedy lines. The actress and the billionaire are a lot more fun if you play them just like the characters from the old show. There are sequels (one before and one after) that you can get to go with this sketch, parts 1 and 3. Or if you want all three, go to the general Christian script category and scroll till you find "Gillian's Island - The Play". You save a little money by buying the play rather than the three skits.

In this part 3 sequel, the castaways are rescued... only to end up in a big storm that threatens their very lives. There is still a lot of humor as this one gets more serious toward the end. Skippie arrives with her dad (Skippie could be a male) and they find everyone asleep. They have to wake them up and get them on Skippie's boat. With Gillian sleepwalking and everyone out cold because of what they ate... it is comical. The second half is the storm and the passengers begin to talk about life and death and what is important. Carrie Ann boldly shares the gospel and prays for their deliverance. It seems as if some of them are having a changed heart once they are safely through the storm. There are prequels that you can get to precede this sketch, parts 1 and 2. Or if you want all three, go to the general Christian script category and scroll till you find "Gillian's Island - The Play". You save a little money by buying the play rather than the three skits.

This affordable play was written for a puppet ministry with a mixture of live actors and puppets. You've heard of a play within a play? Well this is a play within a play within a play within a play. Follow closely and I'll try to explain: Keith comes to the clubhouse of his friends (the puppets) and asks for help because his friend, Angela, does not believe in Christmas. The friends decided to put on a play about Jesus' birth to help convince her. There is a lot of puppet interaction as we watch the play come together. Pappy becomes the director and he gets a little stressed. Keith and Angela come to watch and Pappy keeps stopping the play to make corrections, suddenly a director comes up from the audience to stop the whole play we are watching. He talks to Pappy and the other actors, like the girl playing Angela (Kelly). She has questions about being a Christian and that perks up everyone, but just then, they all freeze. Two slightly older girls walk on stage and one of them is saying how she is Kelly. That is when you realize that the entire play was just a story this girl was telling her friend. The play continues, as they share the gospel with Kelly and they get back to their bible play and the end where Angela invites Jesus into her heart. But Kelly goes off the script and does it for real. So this is a story of how Kelly got saved doing the Christmas play. Are you confused? Well, so are the puppets at the end. A bit of humor and a salvation message.

Go back in time to the old mysteries from the 40's and 50's where you hear the detective narrating as the story goes along. Based on "film noir" but not as dark: Think Sam Spade or Philip Marlowe. As our story begins, we find Johnny Howland waking up in a coffin and wondering how he got there. He discovers he has amnesia, and as he tries to get his memory back, he continues with his work, faking it with his clients and looking for clues. Who wanted him dead, and also who killed Hanfield Rivers, or is he even dead? Mrs Rivers, the supposed widow, is your classic 'film noir' dame. Have fun with costumes and makeup, and play out the parts like 'Bogart and Bacall'. The big difference here is a sweet young Christian woman named Laura leads Johnny to Christ, and that brings a whole spiritual side to the story that you would not expect. But that doesn't mean we don't have the big finale with guns and blackouts, screaming and fainting, and twists to make the story more intriguing. This is one of my more popular Christian plays, and has been performed many times around the country in the past few years.

In this one act Christian play, A group of young people are having a Halloween party with costumes and Tim has dressed as a super hero because he doesn't want to be an evil looking character. They tease him for his standards and they discuss alcohol and making out and finally end up playing with a Ouija board. By now, Tim has shared his Christian views on things, so he refuses to play the game. The game ends up sending them to the cemetery to find a particular headstone, when they see someone running by and they get frightened. The police arrive and they are warned of a dangerous criminal on the loose as well as reprimanded for being out after curfew and disturbing the peace. The best part is...Tim had prayed out loud that they would be protected from evil by the blood of Jesus, and when they realized the man they saw could have been dangerous... they began to think about Tim's prayer. One girl in particular really wants to talk to Tim at the end about heaven and hell.

A fun youth drama (high school or young adult/college age) with music and costumes from different eras. Perfect for a Valentine Banquet. You will get the real nostalgia feel on this one along with some science fiction. Abigail is a teenager who is frustrated with the dating scene and wants to know what true love is. A time traveler shows up to take her back in time to see how her parents met and fell in love, also her grandparents and great grandparents. This takes you to the 70's, the 40's and the 20's. Add songs from those periods with some fun costumes and you and your audience should have a delightful time. A spiritual message is woven into the story as Abigail watches her great grandparents get saved... which was when the Christian heritage began for her family. This is when Abigail decides to focus on her relationship with God and let the love thing happen in His timing. The gospel is shared in that scene and you will find period references and slang throughout the script. You will need to find your own music.
Cast of 17 actors. (7 males, 9 females, the time traveler can be either) About 30 minutes of dialog (before songs are added). Simple sets.

This is a play about coming to grandma's house for Christmas. It takes place in the 50's with costumes, music and lines that are reminiscent of old TV shows. Alexis (Alex) was raised by Nana, and she is home from college. Nana hopes that her strong Christian faith will have an influence on her family who seem to have forgotten the real meaning of Christmas. Mostly kids in this show with lots of cousins and typical bickering that you might find when lots of family is together. The play gets serious at the end when Alex has a chance to really share with her cousins about what Jesus did for us and His gift at Christmas.
Cast of 14. (Only 4 older adults, several small children and only 2 male parts, though some of the children could be changed to boys. Most of the actors need to be young adult or teen) About 30 minutes.

This play was written for a puppet ministry with a mixture of live actors and puppets. It can be easily adapted into a regular play with all actors, or just a few puppets. It is about a group of young people who want to put on a Christmas play, but do not have enough actors. They meet a bunch of strangers who offer to help them with the play. It is an answer to prayer, but things get out of hand and attitudes go wild. There is a lot of humor in the script, but things take a serious turn when the real message comes toward the end. A word of exhortation and some scripture helps everyone to see what has happened and to repent. The play within the play is actually never seen. The actors learn that they always need to make room for Jesus in every area of their lives and especially in their Christmas project.
There are 24 characters, 13 males and 11 females.. some can be altered and ages can vary. 60 minutes. One set.. no scene changes.

It's time for the Christmas program, but the children leaders are too busy to do it. Since the young people did it a few years back, they invite the same bunch in and ask them to help the younger kids put on the Christmas story. So, with teens in charge, they run into a few problems trying to get the kids to accept their roles and also remembering how the story goes and where to find it all in the Bible. Leadership gets passed around as someone has to go look for a missing kid in the church. It all turns out well at the end with a nice narrated Christmas story.

Here is a Christian mystery script for you. Is it a modern day rendition of “The Good Samaritan” or an old fashioned “Who-Done-It?” You decide. This is a mystery in four acts that is loosely based on the story of the Good Samaritan. This Christian play begins with a man lying on the floor, and the only person who comes to his aid to even see if he is alive is his lawyer, Samantha Good. The victim is Richard Blumfeld, who has invited several people over for a party, and someone there has stabbed him and left him for dead. Samantha becomes the sleuth while they wait for the paramedics and the police, and they all begin to try to solve the mystery of who tried to kill poor Richard. It seems almost everyone has a motive, as he was not a likable fellow. Could it have been his evangelist brother, the evangelist’s wife, the business partner, the therapist, his only son, the girlfriend or the cook? In act four, the perpetrator is caught, and Richard recovers…a changed man. Besides the tongue-in-cheek mystery, this play deals with issues like shame, phony Christianity, forgiveness, reconciliation, redemption and just doing what the Lord would have you to do.

Then Mikey falls asleep and in his dream, the Easter Bunny comes and tells him that he is now saved and has changed his name to Resurrection Rabbit.
